Overview
Ski Brule is a ski resort located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Already having an existing website, the goal was to bring in a clean design that still kept the same feel. They pride themselves on being a family friendly resort, so incorporating that was integral to the design. Consolidating redundant information helped to create a site that was more straightforward and easier to navigate.

Built For All Devices
With 50% of all web traffic coming from mobile devices, it's necessary to have a responsive website that is consistent across devices. Sites not optimized for mobile can cause frustration to the user and make them to leave entirely. Creating a seamless transition between devices allows the user experience consistent throughout desktop, laptop, tablet, and phone.

Design
While redesigning, it was important to keep the same feel of the old site and bring it into the modern age. Starting with the logo to giving it a lighter and fun feel. With the focus being on family, imagry was incorporated to help reinforce this belief. A monochromatic color scheme against white helps to give it a light feel.
Development
Building from scratch gave the opportunity to learn core concepts of HTML5 & CSS3 more in-depth. Having a better understanding helps working with frameworks and already existing code. Troubleshooting errors also provided problem solving skills that help to debug faster.
CSS Flexbox Layout
With full browser support, flexbox was used to develop the layout. It provides a more simplistic way to build the structure as opposed to floats.
Randomized Hero
Whenever the page loads, the hero will change to a random image.
Google Map & YouTube API
Google Maps API lets you customize maps with your own content and imagery for display on web pages
Plugins
Code plugins help accelerate the development process to get the website live at a quicker pace.
